This position works closely with the Director, Account Manager and Account team as an extension of our client’s trade compliance organization. This position is responsible for performing the day-to-day tactical activities as defined by the Client’s procedures and ensuring their Global Export and Import activities are done in a timely and compliant manner, this includes performing ECCN and HTS classifications. This position requires the individual to be self-motivated, have a high attention to detail with a passionate can-do attitude. Working from home requires the individual to hold themselves accountable and work efficiently with limited supervision.

This position is responsible for performing the day-to-day tactical activities as defined by the Client’s procedures and ensuring their Global Export and Import activities are done in a timely and compliant manner, this includes performing ECCN and HTS classifications. Functional Requirements and Specific Responsibilities
- Responsible for classifying items with a very high level of accuracy for both Export and Import using the following:
- EAR and CCL
- The Harmonized Tariff Schedule
- Processing of daily export and import operational transactions, per the client’s policies and procedures.
- Work with the client and the client’s suppliers to obtain product data, documents and material information to ensure the proper classification or the items.
- Responsible for analyzing client product data to assist in the classification of their products.
- Responsible for following all documented processes identified by the client or provide insight with ways for improvement.
- Must organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to manage workload and meet deadlines and daily requirements.
- Must work well individually and as part of a team.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Professional Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years experience with Global Import and Export classification.
- CUSECO or other export and import certifications are a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Strong working knowledge and experience with US ECCN/EU ECN classifications and working with Export Regulations are an absolute must. Experience with Dual-Use is a benefit.
- Proficient classifying USHTS and Global HS Codes along with an understanding of the Customs regulations
- Must have a strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrate outstanding problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with complete Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Etc) and PC Skills.
- Ability to work effectively with teams of staff from Vigilant, partners, and clients.
- Strong customer relationship skills.
